Avenger

 

 

The Avenger is a true dual sport car designed to race the desert and run the sand as well. Originally we designed and built the very successful Sidewinder car for Dunebuggy.com who was the sole distributor for this car until recently. Now, we have improved the design and made it available to you directly as the Avenger. Instead of adding a few things to a sand car and calling it a dual sport we went about the design of the Avenger knowing that the chassis and components needed to be strong enough to handle the desert abuse but still keep the car nimble enough to dune as well.

 

Constructed with 1"3/4 4130 tubing ranging from .120 to .065 wall thickness the Avenger is a SCORE legal chassis with over 595 linear feet of tubing used in it's construction. Safety and longevity were main concerns when designing this car. If it can survive a 7 time roll at 85 mph in a SCORE race and still finish like G and R racing did in the 2005 Ridgecrest 250 then you can be sure that your family will be completely safe for many years to come in the dunes or in the desert pre-running. 

 

 

Since the Avenger was designed from scratch with the desert in mind the standard equipment on this car is considerably larger than any sand car would hope to be. This car uses a minimum of 3" bypass and up to 4" shocks front and rear. It has 2" hollow bolt on and heat treated spindles with universal brackets that accept any style caliper and hub. Mid board style 934 hubs in the rear with 6 piston calipers. A 44 gallon bladder Fuel Safe fuel cell and fuel stop roll over system are standard. Self centering power rack and pinion steering for sure control at speeds well over 100 mph. Full dash, hood and window systems are merely bolt on items. The suspension is designed to use a 35" to 37" off road tire and massive 1" rod ends and spherical joints throughout the car can take the harshest punishment. Mounts for clean air systems, intercoms, radios, satellite radio and satellite phones are standard as well. Luggage racks, light bars, storage compartments, spare tire mounts and jack systems are a given. As these things are standard for the Avenger, so they should be on any true dual sport car otherwise it is just not strong enough to last under desert conditions.

Just about everyone can tell you how good their car performs but what does that tell you about how it "actually" works. We would prefer to let our car do the talking. Off road racing is the biggest test of any car and just during a 6 month period, cars we designed and built have entered 8 SCORE, MDR and Whiplash races taking four 1st places, one 2nd place, three top 5 finishes and three 1st overalls. Another notable fact is that every one of our cars that entered any of these races also finished the race which is a testament to the strength of the design. Off road racers know what works and what doesn't. If a car doesn't perform then it doesn't make the cut. Some of the racers in Class One and Trophy Truck that own our cars are Jeff Quinn (McKenzies) winner of the Sand Car Challenge 2005, Scott Urshell (UMI racing) Cory Sheeler, Cam Theriot, Mike Belick, Garron Cadiente and Ron Whitton (G & R racing) to name a few. When shopping a new car inspect the design, details and components to ensure that it is a true dual sport car and not a warmed over sand car. These racers did and with the race results we have seen you can be confident in knowing that you will have the safest and best performing car possible in a new Avenger.
